Lichess

Lichess is the free, open-source, ad-free chess server — no clock tricks, no paywalled puzzles, just a board and an opponent. I keep coming back to it for the same reason a lot of people do: there's always a game available, win or lose takes ten minutes, and the rating number gives a small, honest signal of whether today's opening prep actually held up.

I'm still early in building a real rating history here, so treat the number above as a draft rather than a verdict. The rating card below pulls live from my profile, so it'll keep drifting as more games get played.
